How to Display Estimated Reading Time in WordPress Posts
There are many plugins available in WordPress repository to show estimated reading time in WordPress posts. But here we will use Reading Time WP. It allows to easily add estimated reading time to your WordPress posts.
First, install and activate the Reading Time WP plugin on your WordPress site. Once the plugin is activated, it will automatically add reading time to the beginning of your post. To configure it, click on Settings >> Reading Time WP.
Here you can change the reading time and minutes text label that appears in your post. Apart from this, you can also edit the average reading speed. By default, the plugin comes with 300 words per minute reading speed.
If you do not want the reading time to appear automatically in the post, then uncheck the Insert Reading Time before content and Insert Reading Time before excerpt options. To manually add the estimated reading time to your post, you can use its shortcode.
