Microsoft AI chief Mustafa Suleyman has raised concerns about giving advanced artificial intelligence systems a potential sense of identity, rights, or independent moral status, warning that doing so could make future AI models more difficult for humans to control or shut down.
Suleyman, who leads Microsoft’s consumer AI efforts, argued that artificial intelligence should remain fundamentally under human control rather than developing into an autonomous entity with its own interests and objectives.
