OpenAI has introduced GPT-6 Astra, a new artificial intelligence model that the company describes as its fastest and most capable system so far. According to OpenAI, GPT-6 Astra can browse websites, complete online forms, work with spreadsheets, operate desktop applications, create websites, conduct research and manage extended workflows with considerably less human supervision.

The launch comes at a time when the capabilities of AI agents are attracting both excitement and concern. While more autonomous systems could dramatically increase productivity, recent incidents involving AI agents have also raised questions about cybersecurity, monitoring and how much control humans should retain over increasingly capable models.
