In 2004, she was elected as the Congress party’s MLA from Shayampet Constituency, also serving as the official spokesperson. Later, she assumed the role of an Ex Officio Member of the Municipal Corporation in 2005. Konda Surekha’s commitment to public service led her to the position of Parkal MLA in 2009, where she was sworn in as the Minister for Women Development and Child Welfare, Disabled, and Juvenile Welfare.
