GPT-6 Brings Interactive AI to Every ChatGPT Tier

OpenAI is rolling out GPT-6 across ChatGPT, introducing a new capability called Intelligent UI that can turn ordinary answers into interactive experiences. Instead of relying entirely on text, ChatGPT can now decide when a response would work better with graphics, charts, buttons, forms, tables, or other interactive elements.

The goal is to make ChatGPT more useful for everyday tasks while making complex information easier to understand. GPT-6 has also been trained to handle everyday conversations more effectively and to determine when visual or interactive content adds genuine value.

What Is Intelligent UI in ChatGPT?

Intelligent UI allows GPT-6 to build responses around the task you’re trying to accomplish rather than presenting every answer in the same conversational format.

For example, imagine you’re planning a dinner for several guests. Instead of simply giving you a written shopping list, ChatGPT could create an interactive table that adjusts the ingredient quantities based on the number of people attending.

It could also provide checklists, forms, charts, or other interactive elements that let you work with the information directly.

If a visual interface would not improve the answer, however, GPT-6 can simply respond with text. The system is designed to choose the format based on the question rather than forcing interactive elements into every conversation.

This flexibility is one of the biggest changes introduced with Intelligent UI. ChatGPT can combine text, visuals, and interactive components within the same response when doing so makes the information easier to understand or act on.

ChatGPT Can Build Interactive Tools on Demand

Intelligent UI is not limited to displaying information. You can also ask ChatGPT to create a simple tool for a specific task.

For example, it can generate an interactive calculator to explore how savings might grow, a bill-splitting tool for a dinner with friends, or other task-specific experiences directly inside the conversation.

You can even ask it to recreate simple retro-style games such as Snake.

The idea is to move beyond a chatbot that only answers questions and toward an interface that can adapt to what you’re trying to accomplish.

As OpenAI puts it, ChatGPT can combine UI, data, and actions to create new ways of exploring and interacting with information.

Visual Responses Could Make Complex Topics Easier

One of the practical benefits of Intelligent UI is that some information is simply easier to understand when it is presented visually.

A complicated comparison might work better as an interactive table. A technical explanation could benefit from a diagram. A calculation could become easier to explore through an interactive tool where you can change the inputs and immediately see the result.

OpenAI says GPT-6 was trained to make these decisions itself, including determining when to use interactive components and when a straightforward text response is the better option.

That means users do not necessarily need to know how to design an interface or specify exactly which component they want. They can describe what they are trying to accomplish and let ChatGPT determine an appropriate format.

GPT-6 Can Start Responding More Quickly

Another important part of the new experience is how GPT-6 handles longer or more complex responses.

With Intelligent UI, responses can begin appearing while ChatGPT continues generating the rest of the answer. This allows users to start seeing useful information sooner instead of always waiting for the entire response to be completed before anything appears.

OpenAI says it built a library of native, streamable components and a compiler that allows interfaces to appear progressively as the model generates them.

The result is intended to make interactive responses feel faster and more natural, particularly when the task requires more substantial reasoning or a richer interface.

GPT-6 Is Rolling Out Across ChatGPT Plans

OpenAI announced the GPT-6 rollout for ChatGPT on October 7, 2026.

The rollout initially began with ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users. It then expanded to Free and Go users. GPT-6 in ChatGPT is powered by GPT-6 Sol on Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise tiers, while Free and Go users receive GPT-6 Luna. Both models are tuned for everyday conversation.

Enterprise availability can also depend on workspace administrator settings.

OpenAI’s latest documentation notes that GPT-6 is rolling out to eligible paid users while Free and Go users receive GPT-5.6 Luna in the standard ChatGPT experience as the rollout and model controls evolve. Availability can therefore vary by plan, workspace, and product surface.

GPT-6 Sol vs. GPT-6 Luna

The GPT-6 family includes different models designed for different levels of capability, speed, and access.

GPT-6 Sol powers ChatGPT’s GPT-6 experience for Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users, while GPT-6 Luna is used for Free and Go users.

OpenAI describes Sol and Luna as models designed to bring the advances of the GPT-6 generation to everyday work at different levels of capability and cost efficiency.

For the most demanding tasks, OpenAI also offers GPT-6 Astra, which sits at the top of the GPT-6 family. Astra is designed for more difficult professional work and is available in specific ChatGPT plans and products.

What This Means for ChatGPT Users

The biggest change with GPT-6 is not simply that ChatGPT has a new model. The experience is becoming more flexible.

Instead of asking a question and receiving the same basic text format every time, users can increasingly interact with answers through tables, graphics, calculators, forms, diagrams, and other purpose-built interfaces.

That could be particularly useful for everyday planning, learning, calculations, comparisons, and other tasks where interacting with information is more useful than simply reading it.

At the same time, traditional text responses are still available. Intelligent UI is meant to adapt to the task rather than replace the conversational experience entirely.

A New Direction for ChatGPT

GPT-6 and Intelligent UI represent a broader shift in how OpenAI sees the future of ChatGPT.

For years, software largely required people to learn how its interfaces worked. OpenAI’s vision is moving in the opposite direction: users describe what they want to accomplish, and the software creates an experience suited to that task.

That does not mean every ChatGPT response will suddenly become a complex application. In many cases, plain text will still be the most useful format.

But when a chart, interactive calculator, visual explanation, or custom interface can make a task easier, GPT-6 can now create that experience directly within the conversation.

With GPT-6 rolling out across ChatGPT and Intelligent UI becoming part of the experience, ChatGPT is moving beyond the traditional chatbot model toward something closer to an adaptive interface—one that can change how it presents information based on what the user is actually trying to do.
